Lt. Boyd D. Wagner became the first American ace of World War II when he shot down six Japanese aircraft in the Philippines in mid-December 1941 in a Curtiss P-40E Warhawk. Also known as a Tomahawk and a Kittyhawk, The Curtiss P-40E featured six wing-mounted 50-cal. machine guns. It served as the Army Air Corps’ primary front-line fighter in the first half of the war. The P-40E saw a lot of combat but was eventually replaced by the more advanced Republic P-47 Thunderbolt and Lockheed P-38 Lightning.
This exquisite Curtiss P-40E Warhawk 1/48 Mahogany Model is handcrafted by our master craftsmen from the finest Mahogany Wood. Attention is given to every detail, resulting in unsurpassed quality.
