When United and Continental airlines merged, United adopted the Continental livery with the blue and gold globe graphic on the vertical tail. The 777-200 was first placed in service with United Air Lines in 1995 and continued to receive new aircraft through 2010. United has 74 777-200 aircraft, 22 of which originally belonged to Continental Airlines. The average age of the fleet is about 17.5 years. United has planned to replace the 777-200s with Airbus 350s beginning in 2022. Interesting fact: The 777 has crew sleeping quarters located above the main cabin.
