The Boeing 757 is a mid-sized, twin-engine airliner designed for operations on short and medium distance routes, replacing the popular three engine Boeing 727. Maximum passenger seating capacity was 199—Delta configured its aircraft for 189 seats in three-class seating. Records show that Delta operated 111 B757-200s. Boeing ceased production of the B757 series in 2004. Our model is painted in the current Delta Airlines paint scheme. Delta Airlines is sixth-oldest operating airline by foundation date, and the oldest airline still operating in the United States. Interesting fact: On March 29, 1991, a 757, powered by only one of its engines, took off, circled and landed at the 11,621-foot-high (3542-meter-high) Gonggar Airport in Tibet.
